What is IGC? |
IGC is a completely unique Freshmen Orientation Programme (FOP)! Ignite Change operates under one of NTU's BIG 4 non-academic student activities clubs: Welfare Services Club (WSC).
We aim to introduce the various committees we have in WSC and interactions with the various beneficiaries we are working with. So yes! Apart from enjoying the orientation games, you will also be able to meet and interact with the beneficiaries on certain days of the FOP. It will be a completely unique experience that you will not get from any other FOP in NTU! Our main aim of IGC every year is to get students who are passionate and have the spirit of volunteerism to come together and enjoy a week of non-stop FUN, ACTION and EXCITEMENT! |
Joining WSC |
Is it compulsory to join WSC after IGC?
It is NOT compulsory. IGC is just an opportunity created for the freshmen and non WSC members to get together to meet and interact with people who has the same passion in serving the society. Thus, this is NOT a recruitment programme but you will get the opportunity to experience volunteering through IGC. Will I be able to join WSC if I didn't attend/unable to get into IGC? Yes, you will still be able to join! There will be a recruitment drive near August/early September to recruit students who are interested to be part of the WSC family. Nevertheless, it will be great to join IGC as you will have the opportunity to interact with the various beneficiaries during the IGC itself. On top of making new friends who have the same passion in contributing to society, you will also get to hear from senior volunteers, first-hand, of their noble dedication! |
